Ministry
of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT), C-DAC, ERNET, TIFR & National Knowledge Commission invite you to join us at a Workshop entitled "Moving India into the Global Community through Advanced
Networking: Science, Education and the Knowledge Economy" on Saturday, February 18, 2006. The venue for this Workshop will be Homi Bhabha Auditorium, Tata
Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) Mumbai.
The Workshop is being held in association with The World Bank, Internet2, Caltech, IEEAF, University of Maryland, iLabs, MedNet, CERN, ICFA-SCIC & AcrossWorld.
The aim of the Workshop is to demonstrate the value of high performance
and high bandwidth networking to Indian scientists and educationists.
To this end, talks have been organized by various National and International
experts and Scientists and a 622 Mbps(STM-4) international link
has been set up between TIFR and global academic and research networks.
Many demos of various high-end applications from Internet2 and universities
in the US will be shown during that time.
This special Workshop is being organized on the last day of CHEP06,
an international conference on Computing in High Energy & Nuclear
