Garuda Grid Workshop for Scientific and Engineering Applications on 7th & 8th August 2012 at Pune
GARUDA is a collaboration of scientific and technological researchers on a nationwide grid comprising of computational nodes, mass storage and scientific instruments. It provides an abstraction layer above High Performance Computing System, facilitating co-ordination and distributed sharing of resources across different geographical locations and under multiple administrative domains. GARUDA (funded by Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India) aims to provide e-Infrastructure for technological advances required to enable data and compute intensive science for the 21st century. The Operation Phase of GARUDA endeavors to provide a stable, robust and efficient grid environment with guaranteed Quality of Service for various applications.
Garuda Workshop for potential Grid users, is being organized at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Pune University Campus, Pune on 7th & 8th August 2012.
The aim of this workshop is to demonstrate Garuda Grid to users by briefing various middleware components, tools, services and train the users with hands on session and establishing Grid & application community network in various scientific and engineering domain.
On the first day of the workshop, presentation will be made on HPC & Grid concepts, Garuda Grid overview, Grid security & Indian Grid certification Authority (IGCA), Grid Access methods & Tools, Utility services, Application enablement on grid, etc..
On the second day, parallel sessions will be conducted on grid based applications in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Computational Structure Mechanics (CSM), and Seismic Data Processing (SDP). In this session, virtual organization of participants with common interest will be established.
This workshop is open to students, researchers, academicians, system administrators and industries also. There is no Registration fee for attending the workshop, however seats are limited. Kindly register by sending completed registration form to Garuda_Pune2012@cdac.in before 31 July 2012.
Please also get grid certificate, which would be required during workshop for carrying out hands on session and further usage of grid. Information for obtaining grid certificate is available at the following link:
