GARUDA CHALLENGE 2012:

The primary goal of the Challenge is to provide an opportunity for researchers, engineers and analysts to showcase compute-data intensive scalable applications that solve real-world, complex problems.

This competition calls upon participants to run their grand challenge problems on the GARUDA - Indian National Grid Computing Initiative.

ENTRY CATEGORY:
Two entry categories are accepted:
I Student - Full time
II Scientist / Researcher / Professional working in India

PRIZES:
Cash prizes along with a certificate for each category:

  1. Winner - Rs. 50,000/-
  2. Runner up - Rs. 25,000/-

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Applicant must be either full time student or employed with any Institution / Organization in India.
  • Applicants enrolling must provide a letter from the competent authority (Head of the Department/Institue/Organization).
  • Can be an individual or maximum 3 member team provided each member of the team meet above two criteria.

PROCEDURE:
Participating team is required to meet the eligibility criteria and agree to the guidelines.

Please prepare your submission / whitepaper with following details.
A. Title of Submission
B. Category of applicant
(State whether Student or Professional)
C. Abstract
(about 150 words)
D. Proposed Solution
(Briefly describe how your application will run in the grid computing environment. You can explain how the solution benefits from grid computing / what are the benefits. You may use dataflow/workflow/network diagrams if
required.)
E. Resource Requirement
(State clearly the hardware and software resources of GARUDA grid which will be required for running your application)

The WINNERS among the finalist were declared on Feb 23, 2013 during the PARCOMPTECH India-2013 Conference.
