The presentation of Prof. Andrew Lynn, JNU, Delhi during the Garuda Partners meet in 2010 on OSDD project of CSIR had triggered the interest of Dr. Sarat Chandra Babu Executive Director C-DAC Bangalore (KP) to collaborate with OSDD and be part of this National project. C-DAC team specially Applications team member of Grid Garuda Ms. Janaki has consistently interacted with mou_thumbOSDD team members and provided the necessary framework (Galaxy) and tools over Garuda for OSDD community with all out support from Garuda operational team. Prof. Jaleel, Malabar Christian College, Calicut and Dr. Zakir Thomas, Project Director of OSDD have taken keen interest in taking the association forward. Dr. Sameer Brahmachari while inaugurating the Garuda Boot Camp at MCC, Calicut had expressed his keen interest to work closely with Grid Garuda and this has culminated into signing of a formal MoU between C-DAC, KP, Bangalore and CSIR-Open Source Drug Discovery (OSDD), to work together. This MoU was signed at a brief function at JNU, Delhi on November 4th 2011.

Dr. Zakir Thomas, Project Director of OSDD expressed close collaboration between GARUDA team and the OSDD, a CSIR lab consortium to solve complex problems associated with discovering novel therapies for neglected tropical diseases such as Malaria, Tuberculosis, Leishmaniasis etc. Dr. Subrata Chattopadhyay, Chief Investigator, GARUDA project expressed total commitment of Garuda team and the distributed HPC resources to achieve the noble target of OSDD. The other key members of the OSDD project including Prof. Andrew Lynn and Dr. Anshu Bharadwaj also attended the brief function at JNU, Delhi.
